“Today you are YOU, that is truer than true. There is NO ONE alive who is youer than you.”
Here in the eighth grade, we are working together to figure out how to apply this advice from Dr. Seuss. Our discussions about identity are evolving as we finish the novel, Milkweed by Jerry Spinelli and are beginning a writing piece about the heroes in our lives.
Over the course of the next two quarters, students will also be applying their political knowledge and research skills to write a persuasive paper on a current domestic policy in the United States. Not only does this project enable the students to practice researching, organizing data, and writing persuasively, it also directly relates to their studies and understanding of the United States Constitution.
In Science, we will continue to grow as chemists by practicing the scientific process through fun, and sometimes tasty, experiments. Check the photo links at the right for some shots of the learning in action!
Thank you for learning with us.
