Welcome to 8th grade at The Chatfield School! We are excited for a fabulous year of growing and learning together. Learning experiences this year will include discussions about identity, studies on water quality, and an in-depth look at our country's foundation. At the end of the year, we will visit Washington D.C. to see that foundation in person.
The year will begin with studying the American Revolution and the process of writing The Constitution. In Science, we will experiment with chemistry while revisiting the scientific process. Additionally, we will be reading the novel Milkweed by Jerry Spinelli, exploring themes such as identity and courage. Writing compositions will include contest pieces, in which students will be given the opportunity to send in their writing on a state and national level, and demonstration speeches. We are looking forward to a wonderful year!
