Bierbusse

Mrs. Bierbusse

6th Grade

Mrs. Jennifer Bierbusse has taught at The Chatfield School since 2002. Mrs. Bierbusse is passionate about mentoring children through life’s difficulties, developing students’ character while inviting them to live with integrity and make good choices despite the opposition they may face as they grow. She values the importance of creating a nurturing and positive learning community where students’ are valued for their individual strengths, gifts and talents. Mrs. Bierbusse is a graduate of The University of Michigan-Flint with a Bachelor’s in Education and a graduate from Waldon University with a Master’s in Literacy and Elementary Education. Mrs. Bierbusse enjoys spending time with her husband and three children.

Block

Mrs. Block

5th Grade

Mrs. Block started teaching in 2006 and joined the Chatfield School in the 2008 school year. Mrs. Block has taught 5th and middle school. She obtained her teaching degree and an Educational Leadership degree from Saginaw Valley State University. Mrs. Block lives with her husband and daughter. Mrs. Block enjoys activities such as running, crossfit, horseback riding, and reading.

Boyer

Mrs. Boyer

Kindergarten

Mrs. Boyer has been teaching at The Chatfield School since 2003. She has taught kindergarten, first and second grades during that time. Mrs. Boyer earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from the University of Michigan-Flint. She attained her Master’s degree specializing in literacy and math from Walden University in 2008. Mrs. Boyer enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, hiking, and bicycling.

Boyle

Mrs. Boyle

8th Grade

Mrs. Boyle has been teaching at Chatfield since 2008. She has wanted to be a teacher since elementary school. In order to achieve that goal, she earned a bachelor's degree in Education with a focus in Mathematics and English from Hope College in Holland, Michigan. Additionally, she earned a master's degree from Walden University in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment. Her daily goal is to express her passion for learning and creatively pass on that passion to the students. Mrs. Boyle’s husband shares that passion and teaches physical education for sixth through eighth grade, they have three children. Mrs. Boyle enjoys spending time with family, camping, canoeing, sewing, singing, theater, and watching movies.

Bryant

Mrs. Bryant

4th Grade

Michelle Bryant loves being a part of the Chatfield family. She came to Chatfield having earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Oakland University and her Masters in Assessment and Curriculum from Marygrove College. Her teaching experience ranges teaching students from the ninth grade through first grade. Michelle enjoys watching her horses run around and the abundant wildlife that shares the land. Michelle loves to go horseback riding, spending time with her family and reading mysteries.

Conner

Mrs. Conner

Additional Educators
Mrs. Conner joined the Chatfield staff in 2016, where she teaches Spanish classes. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary education with specializations in Language Arts and Spanish from UM Flint in 2007, and a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction online through the University of Phoenix in 2011. Mrs. Conner began teaching in Flint and taught Spanish and 4th grade there for 9 years. She grew up in Lapeer, graduated from Lapeer East in 2001 and still resides in Lapeer with her husband and dogs. In her free time she enjoys reading, bike riding, and hanging out with family and friends. lconner@chatfieldschool.org
DelCampo

Mrs. DelCampo

2nd Grade

Mrs. DelCampo joined the Chatfield Team in 2015 as a second grade teacher. She has taught Pre-K, Kindergarten, First and Second Grade. She graduated from New York State University with an elementary education degree and has a master degree in Early Childhood Education. Learning and growing together, each child has a unique way to inspire, engage, and innovate. Mrs. DelCampo resides in Metamora with her husband and son.

Dunsmore

Mrs. Dunsmore

3rd Grade

Mrs. Dunsmore received her teaching degree from Michigan State University. She has taught pre-school, kindergarten, first grade, and currently teaches third grade. She and her husband enjoy traveling and have lived in California, Maine, and Louisiana before residing in Michigan to raise their children. Mrs. Dunsmore lives with her husband, son, and daughter in Lapeer. She stays busy attending her children’s soccer, dance, gymnastics, and various other school events.

Huestis

Mrs. Huestis

Additional Educators

Kristi Huestis has been teaching at The Chatfield School since 2007. Mrs. Huestis earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from the University of Michigan-Flint. She attained her Master’s degree specializing in integrating technology into the classroom which led her in a new career path. Mrs. Huestis left her second grade teaching position to be the Educational Technology Specialist in 2014. When not in school, Mrs. Huestis enjoys spending time with her husband and three children.

Mrs. Jelneck

Support Staff
Mrs. Jelneck began her teaching career in Gwinnett County, Georgia after finishing college at Georgia Southern University. After returning home to Lapeer, Michigan she began teaching in Flint, Michigan. She is enjoying her role at Chatfield as reading consultant. When not in school, Mrs. Jelneck enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.

Jostock

Mrs. Jostock

Additional Educators

Mrs. Jostock joined Chatfield in 2014. She received her Bachelor's in Elementary Education from the University of Michigan-Flint in December 2006. She has a major in Integrated Science and a minor in Social Studies with an RX endorsement. Mrs. Jostock teaches both an Explorations and Fine Arts class. In addition she helps to develop and support outdoor education as well as provides classroom support. Mrs. Jostock enjoys gardening, sewing and spending time with her family on a small farm.

Kobylik

Mrs. Kobylik

1st Grade
Mrs. Kobylik has been a Chatfield Dolphin since 2003. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan-Flint and a Master of Reading/Reading Specialist from Marygrove College. Mrs. Kobylik has been married since 1987 to her husband Neal and three fabulous girls call her mom. Even better than being a mom, she has earned the title of Gaga to four wonderful little people. In her spare time, Mrs. Kobylik likes to read, go to the movies and play with her grands. Teaching first grade is one of the most important things Mrs. Kobylik has ever done. She believes that instilling a love for learning and teaching students that school is FUN is key to a child’s education. kkobylik@chatfieldschool.org

Mrs. Kress

Mrs. Kress earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical/Community Psychology from the University of Michigan-Flint. She attained her Master’s degree in Counseling from Oakland University. Mrs. Kress began her career at Chatfield School in 2012. When not in school, Mrs. Kress enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters.

Kurtz

Mr. Kurtz

7th Grade

Mr. Kurtz began teaching at Chatfield Middle School in 2008. In addition to teaching 7th grade. He also teaches Service Learning, Keyboarding, Small Engine Repair, Automotive Basics and Course 2 Mathematics. Mr. Kurtz holds Hunter's Safety and Snowmobile Safety classes at Chatfield. He also runs the after-school program “Jam Band” for middle school students. He has a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with a major in Social Studies and minor in Science, and a Master's degree in Public Administration from The University of Michigan-Flint. Mr. Kurtz and his wife have two children. Aside from teaching and spending time with his family, Mr. Kurtz enjoys playing guitar, drums, boating and camping

LaForge

Mrs. LaForge

5th Grade
Karly LaForge joined the Chatfield family in 2009 as a 5th grade student teacher. She received her Bachelor's in Elementary Education from the University of Michigan-Flint in December 2009. She has a major in Language Arts and a minor in Social Studies. She currently lives in Capac with her husband and her two children. Mrs. LaForge believes that children learn best through real-world hands on activities in the classroom. Lange

Mrs. Lange

4th Grade

Mrs. Lange has lived in Lapeer her whole life and has been teaching at Chatfield since 2008. She has earned a Bachelor's in Elementary Education with a major in Language Arts and a minor in Math. Mrs. Lange believes that teachers can provide the background that students will need to be successful, caring citizens. She strives to teach using authentic activities where students will learn by exploring and making important connections to themselves and their surroundings.  She believes that learning can and should be fun and exciting.

Mr. Lange has been teaching at Chatfield since 2012. Mr. Lange earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Art Education in 2003 and attained a Masters Degree in Educational Technology in 2008. Mr. Lange currently teaches Visual Art to students in Kindergarten through Eighth grade as well as Middle School Elective courses in Robotics and Visual Arts. While not teaching Mr. Lange enjoys spending time with his wife and son.

Leonard

Mrs. Leonard

Mrs. Leonard has taught Special Education at Chatfield since 2003. She received her teacher certification and special education degree from Eastern Michigan and Grand Valley University and her Masters in Reading from Walden University. Mrs. Leonard loves being home with her with family and enjoys reading, traveling and working outside when she has the time.

Logan

Mrs. Logan

7th Grade

Tracy Logan began teaching at The Chatfield School in 1997, when the school opened. Since then, she has taught first, second, third, fourth, and seventh grades. Mrs. Logan believes that strong relationships with students, parents, and staff are vital in providing the best learning environment for everyone, not just the students. She appreciates the collaborative approach at Chatfield, and enjoys every day that she spends with her students as they learn together.

McCreedy

Mr. McCreedy

Additional Educators

Peter McCreedy is the Ecology Director at Chatfield School. He loves working with students of all ages in the Willows and the many surrounding outdoor classrooms. Peter has lived most of his life in Lapeer and enjoys sharing the rich natural and cultural history of this special place with others. In his free time Peter likes to go camping, play hockey, and ride his bicycle. Peter met his wife Beth in the Chatfield office on Olympics day! They have two daughters and live on a small farm where they like to swim in the pond, build forts, and grow food.

Nolan

Mrs. Nolan

3rd Grade

Mrs. Nolan received a BA in psychology from Michigan State University. She worked as a coordinator for children with autism for five years. During that time, she also facilitated summer camps for children with developmental disabilities. Mrs. Nolan then received her degree in elementary education with a major in English and a minor in History from Olivet College. She worked as an outdoor specialist with Peter McCreedy for four years before joining the Chatfield teaching staff for the 2010/2011 school year. She lives with her two children and husband in Metamora.

Mrs. Norum

Kindergarten
Mrs. Norum resides in Lapeer with her husband.  She has two grown daughter and several pets.  Mrs. Norum earned her degree from Oakland University and after years of experience in the field of education is excited to be leading a kindergarten classroom!

Wilcox

Mrs. Wilcox

2nd Grade

Mrs. Wilcox joined the Chatfield family in 2015 teaching with Peter McCreedy. She earned her bachelor’s degree and teaching certificate from the University of Michigan-Flint. She believes positive relationships are important for students to learn and grow. Mrs. Wilcox appreciates the partnership that creates the Chatfield family between students, parents, and staff. She feels lucky to be part of an amazing school! Mrs. Wilcox resides in Lapeer with her husband and two children. She loves to camp, be outdoors, read, and spend time with her family.

Wolinski

Mrs. Wolinski

6th Grade

Mrs. Wolinski began her teaching career at The Chatfield School in 2002 Mrs. Wolinski believes that teachers can make a significant difference in the way children see themselves, their world, and learning in general. While creating a nurturing environment, she strives to involve all students in meaningful learning activities while attending to their individual academic and social needs. Mrs. Wolinski is a proud graduate of Michigan State University where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and Master's Degree in Curriculum and Teaching. Mrs. Wolinski and her husband reside in Ortonville with their two young children.

Young

Mrs. Young

8th Grade

Mrs. Young received her teaching degree from Oakland University and has a Master’s degree in Technology from Central Michigan. She has been a middle school teacher since 2004. She teaches Language Arts, Science, Math, Technology, Dissection, and Culinary Science. In addition to academics, Mrs. Young loves being an active participant in the school community by getting involved in after school dances, coaching, tutoring, and attending her students sporting events. Outside of school, she and her husband enjoy camping and spending time outdoors with their two children. Mrs. Young believes that it is vital that she make learning fun and interesting and maintain a positive relationship with her students in order to motivate her students and provide the best learning experience.
