Welcome to eighth grade! I am very excited for our second year and especially for the amazing things we are doing this year. Our first day of school is Tuesday, September 8th, 2009 and this year we are starting at 8:30 am. Students should be in class when the bell rings at 8:30. On the first day of school we will be sending students home with the classroom newsletter and this will be sent home at the start of each week. PLEASE , please look over the newsletter each week as we use this to inform parents of things going on in our class. You may also find a link to the newsletter on the website. I look forward to meeting all of the new parents and to seeing and working with those that I may already know. Our policies and classroom information will be discussed on curriculum night as well some information on our 7th/8th grade Washington trip- so please plan to attend. I have high expectations and enthusiasiam for this year and think we have an amazing group of students throughout. I am honored to be a part of your child's life and to help make eighth grade a positive growing experience for them.

About Mrs. Pretty
Mrs. Pretty is entering into her second year at The Chatfield School and her third year of teaching. She has her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Michigan and is working towards her Masters Degree also at UM Flint. Mrs. Pretty is married and has three children, Brandon, Jacob and Evan. Brandon, who will be in third grade this year at Chatfield, loves soccer and playing guitar/drums. Jacob is 4 and Evan is 2, they both attend Wee Dolphins at Chatfield. In her free time, Mrs. Pretty loves scrapbooking, water sports/boating and anything cardio! She especially enjoys boxing, kickboxing, running and wakeboarding.
