Fourth Grade

We have been taking pictures of the pond each week, and observing the changes.  Click on the link below to see the season change!

 Phenology Pond

Science Intensive Study

Fourth and fifth grade students worked together to learn more about simple machines and the scientific process.  Each group conducted an experiment, created a data table and graph, then posed questions about their data for other students to answer.  This will help all students be prepared to conduct their Science Fair projects!

Mrs. McCauley brought her friend Luwanda to school on October 31.  Luwanda is working on her social skills.

To learn more about our interaction with our environment, we made cider with Peter.

Students took turns grinding the apples, and using the press to create fresh, delicious cider!

Mrs. Porter has kindly offered to put our weekly spelling words on Spelling City each week.  It is a free website where our students can practice the words, play games, and take tests.  On the home page, click the tab that says "Find a List" then follow the prompts to get to our lists. Both classrooms are listed withTracy Logan.

Fourth grade is in the swing of things!  We have started phenology, the study of seasonal changes that occur in nature.  This year, we are focusing on the pond near the Middle School.  We make observations about the changes we see each week.

For Constitution Day, we worked with third and fifth grade to create our own Preamble and Constitution.  The students did a great job working together to come up with learners' rights, and ways to protect their rights.

To kick off our study of Relationships and Requirements of Living Things, we checked out the chickens in the Willows.  We will be watching their life cycle, and learning about the needs and relationships, food chains and webs of organisms around us.
