Mrs. Fernandez went to India to teach art to the leprosy affected; She worked with students that never had taken an art class and with adult painting students at the Bindu School of Art; She did this as a service for the non-profit Rising Star Outreach--who is working to eradicate leprosy from the world. Helping celebrate Cinco de Mayo!
Middle schoolers learning to draw animals on the move at the Detroit Zoo! Students had to make about 20 sketches that later were used to create about 50 drawings. Drawing from life is more challenging but our students had a great time and made some great artwork.
Drawing in the Arctic Circle at the Detroit Zoo--we were lucky enough to be under a very active polar bear, enjoying a daily swim!

You know, art is all around us. Sometimes the non-art-supporters are not aware of how much and often we use the fine arts in our everyday lives. Art impact all that we do, see, make and use in every day life. We just have to look for it! This is in the Arctic Ring of Life at the Detroit Zoo. Just beautiful--
